Official 1949 consular translation produced by the Greece Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a legal matter handled through its diplomatic mission in Cairo. The document is printed on original governmental paper bearing the fully spelled out institutional header used by Greek foreign service offices in the postwar era. It presents bilingual content prepared for a real administrative case involving Greek nationals residing in Egypt.
Consular translations of this nature were created only for specific legal procedures and were typically discarded after their administrative purpose ended. Very few survived the periodic destruction of diplomatic files, making intact examples almost nonexistent in private hands. This specimen remained preserved only because it entered a private Egyptian institutional archive that avoided later consolidation or removal. The formatting, paper stock, and content remain original and untouched.
The document illustrates the interaction between Greek governmental authority and Egyptian civil procedures during a period of active expatriate presence.
