Poland 1938 - Ministry of Finance 1 Zloty Specimen with WZÓR and BEZ WARTOŚCI Overprints (Pick 50s)

The ticket was designed by Leonard Sowinski, engraved by Marian Romuald Polak, and printed by Polska Wytwornia Papierow Wartosciowych S.A. in Warsaw. Its production belongs to the final prewar phase of Polish state paper money and to the treasury-ticket programme introduced in response to a shortage of subsidiary coinage. Read more →

Poland 1946 - 1 Zloty Narodowy Bank Polski Specimen (Pick 123s)

The note carries a red SPECIMEN overprint across both sides together with red diagonal cancellation lines extending from corner to corner. These permanent markings identified the note as a specimen and prevented its use as circulating currency. Like the issued note, it was produced without a serial number or prefix. The paper incorporates a multi-tone watermark composed of repeating light and dark triangles across the full surface.
