Description and research notes
Issued 20 Dollars polymer note from the East Caribbean Central Bank, dated 2019 and printed by De La Rue.
When first released, this note was unlisted in the SCWPM but later catalogued as Pick 57. It belongs to the ECCB’s first full polymer issue, designed to withstand the tropical environment of the Eastern Caribbean. It carries enhanced features such as a transparent window, latent images, microtext, and raised printing.
The face shows Queen Elizabeth II at right and the ECCB building in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis. The reverse depicts national landmarks from several member territories, reinforcing the regional unity of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union.
Graded PMG 68 EPQ Superb Gem Uncirculated, this early Unlisted variety represents the introduction of polymer technology into the $20 denomination and the move toward a more secure and durable multi-territorial currency system.
