Description and research notes
Issued polymer 50 Dollars from the East Caribbean Central Bank, dated 2019 and catalogued as Pick 58a. Printed by De La Rue, it represents the official polymer debut of the highest denomination in the ECCB currency series.
The note features Queen Elizabeth II at right, alongside the ECCB headquarters building, with vivid intaglio highlights, holographic butterfly motif, and advanced transparent window. The orange and copper color palette distinguishes the $50 within the polymer family. The reverse continues the regional unity theme, combining architecture, trade, and natural motifs from across member territories.
Graded PMG 66 EPQ Gem Uncirculated, this catalogued issue reflects the full adoption of polymer substrate technology across the ECCB’s 2019 banknote family. It stands as the definitive version following the short-lived unlisted release, now serving as the benchmark example for collectors of modern Caribbean currency.
