This engraved vignette die proof was produced by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co., London, for the Banco de San Juan 1 Peso Fuerte issue of 1876. The vignette depicts a large bird of prey standing before a mountainous landscape, enclosed within an oval composition. Argentina 1869 - Banco Domingo Garbino, 1 Peso Fuerte Issued Note with Red Overprint (Pick S1802)

Issued 1 Peso Fuerte note of Banco Domingo Garbino, produced from an earlier 1869 Banco Oxandaburu y Garbino note printed by the American Bank Note Company (Compania Americana de Billetes de Banco Nueva York) and later placed into circulation under Banco Domingo Garbino through the large vertical red overprint "BANCO DOMINGO GARBINO." The overprint identifies the provisional reuse of the underlying Oxandaburu y Garbino stock under the successor banking identity. Across the face, the issuer appears prominently as OXANDABURU Y GARVINO. Historical records identify the partner as Domingo Luis Garbino, while the printed 1867 issue uses GARVINO with a V. This spelling is a defining feature of the 1867 partnership issue and provides a direct visual connection with the 5 Pesos Bolivianos remainder of the same year.
