The dominant design element of the denomination is the Maenad figure, derived from an ancient bronze sculpture discovered in the archaeological complex of Heraclea Lyncestis. The sculpture depicts a dancer in motion and has become one of the most recognizable symbols of classical Macedonian art. In the banknote design the figure functions both as a cultural emblem and as a structural anchor for the engraving, occupying the central field in a large intaglio vignette whose dynamic posture creates visual movement across the note’s horizontal layout.
