The engraved text and layout illustrate early nineteenth-century security philosophy. Instead of relying on standardized printed templates, each bank commissioned bespoke designs featuring elaborate calligraphic lettering, ornamental flourishes, and heraldic devices. The bank crest at left, the sweeping script of the promise-to-pay clause, and the careful balance of negative space were all deliberate countermeasures against forgery at a time when counterfeit detection depended on human familiarity rather than machine verification. The engraved design is concentrated in the upper portion of the sheet. A double denomination cartouche marked 100 appears near the upper border. Below it, the central device consists of a Savoyard cross within a wreath-like enclosure, engraved with dense linear detail and surrounded by scrollwork that integrates into the lower border. At the right, a stacked calligraphic authority block is fully engraved, reading Maestro Auditore, Maestro Auditore, Tesoriere generale, and Controllore della Tesoreria, aligned vertically within the frame.

Although the lower wave band reflects a shared regional design vocabulary common across Xinjiang textile issues, the overall composition, emblem structure, and calligraphic execution distinguish this note from the known 1880 Xinjiang issue and from later, more standardized paper emissions such as those of the Dihua Coin Bureau. It represents a descended regional design rather than the same issue or authority.

The face of the note is densely arranged with vertical calligraphic inscriptions, framed text panels, boxed marks, and seal impressions. The large circular seal and smaller rectangular validation seals were not decoration alone. They were part of the security and authority structure of the note, helping users recognize the issue, confirm its legitimacy, and distinguish it from forged or unauthorized paper. In a system without machine engraving, serial numbering, or centralized national printing, authenticity depended on a layered visual language: script, seals, paper, layout, carving style, and local familiarity.
