Below it is a second blue ink stamp, Payez à l’ordre de la Banque d’Orient, dated 23 NOV 1927 and signed by Souki, Makarius & Co. Page one contains the consular-facing administrative layer: multi-value Italian revenue adhesives, Egyptian consular stamps, foreign-ministry validations, and court certifications. Affixed along the left margin is a vertical sequence of Marca da Bollo stamps, including a 10 centesimi blue adhesive with portrait medallion, a pair of 1 lira purple adhesives, and a larger high-value adhesive used for elevated consular fees. All are tied with deep purple and blue circular datestamps, confirming contemporaneous use. Below them appears the green embossed circular seal of the Regio Consolato d'Italia in Egitto, bearing the royal arms and surrounding Italian legend, followed by multiple Cairo and Siracusa cancellations validating the movement of the document across jurisdictions. Affixed at the left margin are two vertical 100 Drachma Parakh Eisaktion consular revenue adhesives, printed in grey olive with classical Greek lettering and the numeral 100 in bold black. These adhesives represent the ministerial fee required for legalization of foreign service translations. Both stamps are fully tied to the document by large violet circular cancellations bearing the wording of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the date 22 June 1949, with cancellation strikes extending well into the surrounding paper. The alignment and clarity of these impressions confirm direct on-document application. Additional embossed and inked seal impressions are faintly visible beneath the red legalization block, consistent with Greek foreign service authentication practices of the late 1940s. Subtle typewriter impressions and light shadowing from the underlying Greek original remain visible beneath the English text, showing this was part of a multi-page physical case file. Read more →

Its most striking feature is the complete booklet pane of six 5-millieme King Fouad revenue stamps affixed together, fully intact and without separation. Government offices almost always detached individual stamps for fee payment, making the survival of a full booklet pane on a working document exceptionally rare. The pane remains in its original 2-by-3 configuration with uniform perforations and complete margins, showing that it was removed as a single unit from a revenue booklet rather than assembled from loose singles. All six stamps bear full manuscript cancellation across their surfaces, and the entire pane is additionally tied by a large circular ministry seal in violet, overlapping both the adhesives and the underlying paper. The Banco de Zaragoza, active from 1857 to 1874, produced one of the most architecturally consistent and visually elaborate provincial banknote series in Spain. Its structured emission of reales de vellón comprised Serie A (100 reales), Serie B (200 reales), Serie C (500 reales), Serie D (1000 reales), Serie E (2000 reales), and Serie F (4000 reales). Of all these, issued Serie E notes are among the hardest to obtain; almost all known survivors show the characteristic circular cancellation punch used by the bank to void redeemed notes.
