In the finished banknote, the portrait occupies the central oval beneath the inscription EL BANCO DE SAN JUAN. It is flanked by a sheep vignette at left and the provincial coat of arms at right, with large denomination numerals in the four corners and CINCO PESOS FUERTES incorporated into the principal denomination panels. Argentina 1867 - Banco Oxandaburu y Garvino 5 Pesos Bolivianos Remainder (Pick S1776r)

The most immediately distinctive feature is the issuer name printed across the face: OXANDABURU Y GARVINO. Historical records identify the partner as Domingo Luis Garbino, while the printed 1867 issue uses GARVINO with a V. This spelling is a defining feature of the 1867 partnership issue and is preserved again on the related 20 Pesos Bolivianos remainder of the same year. The bank's 1869 series appears under the corrected GARBINO form, preserving a clear spelling progression between the two issues.

The Banco de San Juan operated within the interior province of San Juan during a period when Argentina’s banking system was highly decentralized.
