Mauritius 1940 - Government of Mauritius 1 Rupee Uncut Pair Remainder (Pick 26r1)

Registration between the green key design and rose underprint can be examined simultaneously across both impressions. The repeated placement of the frames, denomination counters, guilloché fields and major pictorial elements demonstrates the consistency of the printing from one adjoining position to the next. The pair therefore documents not only the appearance of the Pick 26r1 remainder but also the spacing, registration and physical organization of the notes within the larger production sheet. Paraguay 1907 - Banco de la República 5 Pesos with 1912 State Overprint (Pick 127, Base Pick 156)

The base design is a refined Waterlow & Sons production. The face combines black intaglio engraving, pale blue underprinting, large 5 Pesos denomination devices, a red serial number, and a dense guilloché security field. The Gothic-style Banco de la República lettering gives the note a strong institutional character, while the national emblem at center provides the ideal location for the later state overprint. The reverse, printed in brown, uses large denomination medallions, guilloché rosettes, and the national emblem to create a balanced and technically sophisticated security design.

Paraguay 1907 - Banco de la República 5 Pesos Issued Note (Pick 156)

The design is one of Waterlow & Sons’ most attractive small-denomination Paraguayan productions. The face features a central allegorical female portrait beneath the large Banco de la República title, flanked by ornate 5 Pesos denomination panels and framed by dense black intaglio ornament. Pale blue underprinting spreads across the lower half of the note, giving depth to the security design and separating the red serial number from the engraved black border. The Serie A designation, formal promise-to-pay wording, and engraved signatures reinforce the institutional character of the original issue.

The proof reproduces the 50 Dollars design in monochrome, allowing the engraved structure and tonal balance of the top denomination to be studied without the full rose and pink colour scheme. The design shows the large corner denomination tablets, strong rectangular border, C.B.C. Travellers' Cheque title panel, central bank-name field, scripted amount line, drawer's signature area, and the repeated security underprint across the background. The central Australia map device and circular bank medallion remain visible beneath the main typography, preserving the shared visual language of the 10 Dollars, 20 Dollars, and 50 Dollars series.
