Lower Canada 1837 Champlain and St. Lawrence Railroad full uncut sheet showing six notes with 15 Sous, Quarter Dollar, and Half Dollar denominations in A and B series paired layout

Lower Canada 1837 - Champlain and St. Lawrence Railroad - 15 Sous, Quarter Dollar, Half Dollar (Full Uncut Dual Series Sheet)

The full uncut format measures 350 millimeters by 220 millimeters and preserves the complete production configuration. This is a critical distinction, as many surviving examples are in fact half sheets-typically consisting of either the A series or B series portion only-and are often misrepresented as full sheets. The present example retains both series in their original unified format, preserving the full structural and functional design. Read more →

China 1949 People's Bank of China 100 Yuan Red Ship unnumbered multi-layer alignment trial printed by the Shanghai Banknote Printing Plant, with oversized sheet margin, printer guide marks, no serial number, inverted 1948 100 Yuan Ploughing and Factory underprint beneath the face design, and blue 100-denomination underprint visible beneath the reverse, cataloged as Pick Unlisted

China 1949 - People's Bank of China 100 Yuan Red Ship Unnumbered Multi-Layer Alignment Trial with Inverted 1948 100 Yuan Underprint (Pick Unlisted)

Both earlier printed layers extend beyond the boundaries of the later Red Ship impressions. On the face, the 1948 underprint continues below the Red Ship image. On the reverse, the blue 100-denomination layer extends beneath the lower portion of the design, across most of its width, and beyond both side edges. The displaced relationship between these layers records a sheet-position shift during production. Read more →
