The design corresponds to the Signature A configuration later cataloged as Pick 55a, confirming its position within the A-branch of the fifty francs series prior to the introduction of the alternate Signature B variant.
A handwritten annotation reading "18.5.72" is present in the lower margin of the mounted proof, executed in pen and positioned along the bottom edge. This annotation represents a later handling or internal reference mark and is physically distinct from the dated reference provided on the grading holder.
