Mauritius 1940 - Government of Mauritius 1 Rupee Uncut Pair Remainder (Pick 26r1)

Opposite the arms, the right side contains a finely engraved right-facing portrait of King George VI within a matching rectangular ornamental panel. The portrait is executed in green line engraving against the rose-tinted field, with the King's head and upper torso occupying most of the panel. The paired placement of the Mauritian arms and the royal portrait creates the principal visual balance of the design, combining local colonial heraldry with the image of the British monarch.
