The security design is executed principally in blue and pale green, with a dense repeating lettered background, ornamental guilloche framing, scrollwork, and multiple denomination devices. Both side panels are built around vertically arranged ornamental structures containing repeated 20 numerals and TWENTY value tablets. The large £20 at upper right and the written TWENTY POUNDS within the payment wording reinforce the denomination across numerical, textual, and ornamental elements.
